The Association for Young Children, Europe (ayce) is the only affiliate of the National Association for Young children (naeyc) located in Europe. Its members are from Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and the United States.  ayce is composed primarily of American teachers, caregivers, educators, administrators, trainers, consultants, social workers, health specialists, and parents living in Europe.

The Association for Young Children, Europe holds an annual conference in the Spring. The purpose of the conferences is to bring together all those working for and interested in the rights and well-being of young children. The conferences provide opportunities through workshops, discussions, and informal meetings for all of us to share ideas and feelings that relate to our concern for children.

In selecting workshop leaders, the conference committee looks for presenters who recognize and address the specific developmental needs of children.  In selecting companies to exhibit, the conference committee looks for exhibitors who provide appropriate materials, supplies, resources and services in support of quality programs for children and youth.
